Thing to do in Marfa, Texas!

Marfa, Texas

About a mouth ago, we took a little trip to Marfa, Texas. We actually stayed outside of Marfa in Alpine, Texas just because we decided to go to Marfa and Big Bend and Alpine was in the middle of it all.
So Marfa is in west Texas where there isn't much out there besides the desert. If I could explain it's kind of a diamond in the rough. They are known for there pop up art in the middle of no where. The most famous one is the Prada store. I wanted to put together a little guide for you guys if you every decided to go! Here we go....

1. Marfa, Prada.

Even though I was dying to go shopping in the middle of the desert for some new Prada shoes, that was not the case. Everything displayed is actually from Prada's 2005 collection, but this store is an installation by Elmgree and Dragset. On the bright side, we were able to get some awesome shots for Instagram! Something that I did not know and wish we could have done it was the locks. Just like in Paris, you can get a lock and hook it to the fence. A great way to keep your memory!

2. Food truck

There is a food truck called Food Shark. Supposedly that was one to the stops that Beyonce ate at so you know what that means if Beyonce did it we have to do it too. Another food truck that we ate at was Cow Dog which was in Alpine, Texas. I think it was one of the best hot dogs that we have ever ate! They are also right next to the cutest coffee/sweet store so when you finish your hot dog you can get coffee or some sweets!

3. The Central Fire Station

Lets be honest, we really just went to Marfa to take a bunch of photos. HAHA. One of the cutest stops was this Central Fire Station. Have you ever seen a pink fire station? I haven't so we had to take some photos in front of it.

4. El Cosmico

We were suppose to stay at El Cosmico but they were book just because the weekend we decided to go was the same week as there movie festival. If you ever want to go glamping this is the perfect place. They have the cutest tents, teepees, and trailers that you can stay in. Don't worry if you are not staying there they love to entertain. When we were there they were having a DJ and serving some drinks then they were showing a movie and serving BBQ.

5. The Chinati Foundation

The Chinati Foundation is a contemporary art museum founded by Donald Judd. We were unable to go to this museum but really wished we had the time to go. On there website, they have some of the coolest art work I have ever seen. So I wish we were able to see it in person but if you book a trip to Marfa definetly make this museum one of your stops!

6. The mysterious lights

So we were told that Marfa has these mysterious lights that appears at night. They have no idea where these lights are coming from. Even scientists can't figure out where these lights are appearing from. We were unable to caught the lights but the locals say that if you can caught them they are pretty amazing.

7. Big Bend

Another place you should visit while you are out in west Texas is Big Bend. I mean this place is unbelieveable. If you love to be out in the nature then this is your place. It was so peaceful and quite that I could not believe it. You seriously need to take a whole day in Big Bend just because it is so big that you might be riding around the whole time. There are some parts that feel like your in Jurassic Park and there is some parts that have water to go swimming and do water activity. We were unable to go swimming because it started to rain. Maybe next time we can do more water activities! Big Bend is a must!
