So far, winter in Austin hasn't been to bad. I haven't taken my coats out of the closet as much as I usually do around this time.  For me, living in the south, coats are really an investment piece.  I bought this white jacket about six years ago and it still looks new. I'm having the hardest time looking for a new coat.  So, if you guys have any recommendations I would love to hear them!

Anyways, I wanted to put a blog post together on the way that I like to style a statement coat.  I love love love just throwing my jackets over my shoulder. I feel like it's a chic way to wear your jackets. Plus, the weather is in the mid 60's over here so I don't need to keep my arms too warm. I paired my jacket with a nude sweater which I am in love with. I am so glad that I bought this sweater and it was only $14. I've been wearing it on repeat. I will have to do another blog post because you can seriously style it so many ways! I paired this look with my favorite Rebecca Minkoff M.A.B tote mini for a pop of color. Lately, I've been styling a lot of neutral colors, and I've been loving it.

What do you guys think? I would love to know more of what you would like to see styled!

This winter I have been living in sweaters!
I'm all about being cozy and comfortable. I feel like when you are most comfortable thats when you are most confident. I was definitely feeling confident in this outfit.

I went shopping the other day and saw this sweater at Gap. I was obsessed with it and then realized it was on sale. So, I knew I had to have it! It's not just another sweater to add to my collection.
I love the ombre detail with a pop of blush that matches my purse perfect. On the side it has buttons that you can snap all the way up to a turtle neck or leave it open. Usually when I shop, I often buy pieces that I can visualize and picture how I am going to style it. I don't like buying pieces that I don't see fitting in my closet because I'll most likely never wear it. For this look I knew exactly how I wanted to style it with my knee highs and beanie to create the perfect winter outfit.

I know in pervious posts I've talked about these knee high boots. I think every girl needs a pair of boots in their closet for winter. These Sam Edelman boots are a great investment piece. I've had these for about three years now. Every year I get excited when I get to take them out of my closet. I have plenty of posts that will give you various outfit inspirations on different ways to style them.

Leather jacket + turtleneck dress

Shop my Flavors:

Turtleneck dress: Nordstrom  (only $27) // Jacket: Nordstrom // Leggings // Shoes: Sam Edelman // Bag: Karl Lagerfeld // Sunglasses: Ditto (1st month free when you use: flavoroffashion)

When I decided to shoot this look a couple of weeks ago I could not believe how windy and cold it was here in Austin. We literally got out of our the car, saw this wall, and started to take photos. This had to be the shortest shoot I've ever done! (I think Adrian liked that! HA)  I was so glad when I got home to see that I had a couple of good photos that I could still create this post.

This winter I am loving everything turtleneck! Thinking about it, I think all of the outfit posts I've recently posted were in a turtleneck. This dress is so comfy and perfect for layering. I paired it with one of my favorite leather jackets. I feel like everyone needs a leather jacket in their closet. If I would invest in one piece it would be a leather jacket. It will last you for years and I don't see this trend going out of style! It's so easy to just throw it on and it gives your outfit an edgier feel.

A couple of posts ago I talked about fringe. This season fringe has been the trend that everyone needs to try out. The way I would incorporate this trend is with a bag or with a pair of shoes. I would start small then work it up to a dress or a jacket. I don't think I am brave enough to do that but you never know!  For this outfit, the fringe adds a playful vibe and really works well with the leather jacket.
