Last week my mom came into town for a short visit. I love when she gets the time to come see me. We have so much fun together and we might get into a little bit of trouble when it comes to shopping. HAHA
We have a wedding coming up in a couple of weeks so she wanted to go shopping for an outfit. My mom was actually the one that came across this lace dress. She loved it so much that she wanted me to try it on. Of course we both fell in love with it!

The details on this dress are AH-MAZING! The dress seriously hugs you in all of the right places. The v-neck and open back with elegant lace trimmed adds a romantic element to the dress. The peplum waist frames the skirt and hits you in all of the right places no matter what body type you are.  I am foreseeing this kind of a deep wine color being the color for fall! This little lace dress is perfect for a wedding or even for homecoming since school has already started!

Thank you for stopping by! Don't forget to tell me what you think!

Preppy Back to School Outfit

Ughh... that sound you make when you realize summer is over and you have to go back to school. I know when I was in school my favorite thing to do with my mom was school shopping. I love going shopping for clothes and shopping my list of school supplies. Unfortunately, schools in Louisiana make you wear uniforms, so I couldn't go shopping for clothes anymore.

Our school uniforms consisted of a white button down, plaid skirts, and Doc Martins. I really don't care to wear skirts. I think this might be my second outfit post that I've styled a skirt. I came to the conclusion the reason why I don't care to wear skirts is because I had to wear it for seven years everyday. A girl needs a break! HAHA

For this look I wanted to create a preppy back-to-school look with a twist. A classic white button down is the ultimate way to get that preppy look. Instead of the classic plaid skirt, I wanted to mix it up with this button down a-line skirt. This season it is all about this 70's trend! This trend has been spotted everywhere in suede and in denim. I have been wanting to get my hands all over this trend. For the fall and winter I could see myself doing a monochromatic look with a sweater that is similar in color. This is a perfect trend to start transitioning your clothes to fall.

Also, a great way to start your school year is with a great pair of sunglasses. I came across Ditto which is a subscription that sends you unlimited designer sunglasses for only $19 per month! I am definitely a sunglasses type of a girl. I think they really complete my outfits and now I can get new designer glasses every month. If you are not a sunglasses type of person, they also have prescription glasses. You will be that cool kid that has new sunglasses or glasses each month. If you sign up be sure to use promo code FLAVOROFFASHION for your first month free

Oh man guys! It's been so hot here in Austin that I don't even want to leave my apartment. Lately, it's been in the triple digits and it doesn't seem like it's going away anytime soon!

Anyways, I did get out of my apartment this past weekend. I attended a blogger brunch at the Premium Outlets here in Austin. It was a nice get together to preview all of the upcoming fall clothing and to socialize with other great bloggers. I wore this timeless tweeted tank with a pair of jeans and my mules for of a more brunch look. I used the word timeless because tweed clothing reminds me of Chanel. They have been using this style for many years in their clothing and even handbags. I don't see tweed going out of style anytime soon. Elegance and classy comes to mind when describing this top.
The detail on this top is pretty amazing! They incorporated fringe around the neck and at the bottom of the tank. Overall, you could dress this top up or down! I could totally see myself transitioning this tank to fall. I just bought a leather jacket from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. It would make this a perfect fall outfit!

Hope you enjoyed the post! Thanks for stopping by!
